German-Based MAIREC Establishing Recycling Operations in Spartanburg County
Company investing $4.6 million to open new Upstate facility
On July 21, 2015, the South Carolina Department of Commerce announced that MAIREC, a Germany-based metals recycler, is establishing operations in Spartanburg County. The $4.6 million investment is expected to create 35 new jobs in Spartanburg over the next five years.
To house its new South Carolina operations, MAIREC is leasing a 50,800-square-foot building at 230 Converse Road in Spartanburg. Situated less than four miles from Interstate 85, the facility will allow the company to meet increasing demand in both the North American and global markets and service its well-established client base in North America.
