About the Project:
Community Indicators VI: Strategic Spartanburg is a community assessment, planning
and improvement initiative sponsored by the Spartanburg County Foundation, United
Way of the Piedmont, Spartanburg County, and USC Upstate. Over the course of the
project’s many phases, literally hundreds of civic and grassroots leaders have
been involved in focus groups, taskforces, and action teams. The initiative’s
ultimate goal is to improve the quality of life for all citizens of Spartanburg
County. To find out more about the process, please explore the "What's this All
About" feature on the left navigation.
During the process, our citizens established ten community-wide goals to benchmark
Spartanburg's progress and collaborate and focus resources against community needs.
Those goals fell into the broad categories of People, Family, Community, and Place
which you will find at the top of the page. Links to each goal can be found under
those categories. Each goal has indicators, by which, its success can be measured.
You can find out more about the individual indicators for each goal, by exploring
the right navigation once on the goal page.
