Community leaders included “caring for our natural resources” to Community Indicators VI. A diverse group of environmental professionals, advocates, businesspersons, and concerned citizens labored to develop priorities and opportunities for the goal that offer both a thoughtful perspective and definable indicators and actions. This section also includes a community engagement goal. Studies show that the more involved citizens are in their community, the more they care about caring for and improving their surroundings. In the following pages you will find information on the goals and indicators that are grouped under “place.” You can navigate the goal from either the top or by clicking below. Once you reach a goal page, a menu will pop down on the right helping you navigate through the indicators, find information on the Community Improvement Plan, and discover much needed resources to meet the goal.
