Population Age 65 and Above

Spartanburg County's population is growing older and living longer. This trend
impacts adult care services, case management and skilled long-term services. It
may also require human service agencies and government programs to further support
the needs of an aging citizenry. The U.S Census Bureau estimates the 60+ population
will grow by 102.5% by 2025. As baby boomers age, the sheer numbers could overwhelm
the social and health care systems that are already stretched to their current
limits by an era of public desire to limit the growth and reach of government.
