Water Quality

Water quality standards are used to compare concentrations of potentially toxic
pollutants and bacteria that effect aquatic life and recreational usage. Bacteria
levels are an indicator of the possible presence of fecal coliform and of pathogens
found in runoff or in inadequately treated sewage, which can lead to a variety
of human illnesses.
